I haven’t posted on my blog in a loooooong time. There are a couple reasons why…. first, I don’t have internet at home. So, my internet usage on my computer is limited. I use the internet on my phone, but that’s not very fun to type on…
second, I haven’t necessarily had anything that [...] -

Hearing God: A Key Component to Staying Out of Sin Okay, so here is something that I have been realizing recently, both in the Word, and in my own life. The more I hear from God, it seems like the less I sin. Ironically (not really) the same seems to be true with the people I am [...] -

My precious granddaughter’s name is “Hephzibah”. It’s a beautiful name but it isn’t simple and it isn’t convenient. When people first hear it, they want it re-pronounced, spelt, and explained. But the meaning is lovely: “my delight is in her”. Would every child know that their parents delight in them! God placed this name in [...]

I went outside to pick some of my deliciously sweet oranges this morning and discovered a Christmas present from the Lord. There’s a grapefruit tree growing right alongside our orange tree with lots of BIG fruit! Now, I don’t know how it got there, but it must have been growing there for years, so close to the orange tree that we never noticed it!
Spiritually, I hope someday to awake and discover some gift or fruit of the Spirit that the Lord’s been working in me for years and I didn’t even know it! Has that not already been the case when in a particular situation, suddenly when you need it most, you have supernatural patience or supernatural joy or supernatural understanding or even supernatural love? And you ask yourself, “Where did that come from?” The Spirit of God in you is working!
Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, our Lord Jesus, 21 make you complete in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

You know, something has been striking me recently as sort of surprising, and really disturbing. There are so many people who claimed they are saved by grace, but then they go on living, as if they were saved by works. We see this same problem in Galatians, and for some reason we think we are far [...] -

Yesterday, on the eve of election (11-1-10), we gathered, as I’m sure many saints did, to intercede for America. Everything we prayed was somehow related to a return to righteousness in this land, a land provided by Almighty God so that we may live in liberty, free to worship and free to prosper. We prayed for [...]

Usually when I read Galatians, I just pick up on cool little verses here and there, but today I focused more on noticing Paul’s overall theme, which I think can be summarized by these verses from Chapter 5:
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke [...]

Probably my favorite chapter of the entire bible (although there are so many!) is Matthew 7… The whole thing. I like it because it has deep wisdom put in a simple form; that is, the secret to happiness spelled out in an almost tangible form. It also shows that Jesus had a little bit of situational humor in [...]

My Q.T. yesterday: Gal. 6:9-10, (Amp/NIV) “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the appointed season we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. So then, as occasion and opportunity open to us, let us do good to all people, being mindful to be a blessing especially to those [...]

Galatians 6:1 — Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual shoud restore him gently. Just a quick note on restoring… We should rebuke our brothers and sisters who are caught up in a sin. In our rebuking, though, we should restore. That means we are to strengthen, perfect, complete, and to [...]
