I went outside to pick some of my deliciously sweet oranges this morning and discovered a Christmas present from the Lord. There’s a grapefruit tree growing right alongside our orange tree with lots of BIG fruit! Now, I don’t know how it got there, but it must have been growing there for years, so close to the orange tree that we never noticed it!
Spiritually, I hope someday to awake and discover some gift or fruit of the Spirit that the Lord’s been working in me for years and I didn’t even know it! Has that not already been the case when in a particular situation, suddenly when you need it most, you have supernatural patience or supernatural joy or supernatural understanding or even supernatural love? And you ask yourself, “Where did that come from?” The Spirit of God in you is working!
Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, our Lord Jesus, 21 make you complete in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever.
