Mark 3:10 . . . that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch Him. [the phrase, 'pushing froward to touch Him", can be translated: to fall upon, come eagerly to, to embrace (like the father ran to embrace his prodigal son in Luke 15:20), threw himself on, threw his arms around him, (also conveys a context of being gripped with fear or in awe of)]
Mark 3:21 . . . they (Jesus’ family) went to take charge of Him for they said, ”He is out of His mind.”. [The phrase 'went to take charge of Him" can mean: to arrest, take into custody, seize, hold back, not forgive]
Both those with disease and Jesus’ family wanted to take hold of Him but with very different motivations. One group wanted to receive His help and healing and the other group wanted to control Him because He wasn’t doing want they wanted Him to do and they didn’t understand that what He was doing was good for them.
I want to embrace what God is doing in my life and with the people I’m close to even when it’s not at all what I want and I don’t understand it. I trust that He is acting out of love for me and I am in awe of Him. -
