So I was watching X-Men 3 last night with my wife (in response to the new X-Men movie which is good, I recommend!), and in the middle I started thinking, “Man that’d be tight to be Wolverine!” As I was thinking about running around and cutting people’s heads off I got a gentle reminder from the [...] -

He gently took my hand and led me. “Down these stairs… there’s something I want to show you… a special place … very special to me. I’ve been saving something for you … over many, many years.” How romantic! It was so like him to shower me with tokens of his love. Yet I sensed in [...]

We confess this frequently at my church: “Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.” These are foundational Christian beliefs. Do you believe Christ is coming again? Many, many Scriptures reference the Lord’s Coming. Some of these just reference the “Day” or the “Revelation” but are included to show how foundational the Second Coming [...]

It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last, but this morning, I messed up. However, since God works all things for my good (Romans 8:28), I learned a few lessons from my mistake. It was a beautiful, cool, September morning. I decided to be outdoors and get a little pruning in on [...]

Yes, I think that these Scriptures establish a pattern that points to continuing significance and ultimate fulfillment: Romans 15:4; Col 2:16 & 17; 1 Peter 1:12; 1 Cor 10:11. Also since Jesus Christ has not returned yet ”in like manner” as he ascended (Acts 1:11), His prophecies in Matthew 24-25 decidely have a double fulfillment [...]

I just read a good article by John Piper: How Willingly Do People Go to Hell . In it, he challenges C.S. Lewis’ statements about hell: that “all that are in hell choose it” and “all God does in the end with people is give them what they most want.” John Piper makes very good arguments to [...]

“Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen. By this we know that it is the final hour.” 1 John 2:18Do you think you can spot an antichrist spirit? If you know the real Jesus Christ, you should be able to discern the [...]

Paul provides encouragement to the Thessalonians in II Thessalonians 1:6-10 concerning Christ’s return. One theme I have noticed about eschatology is that there are two strong themes: comfort and judgment. Christ brings comfort to those who love Him and judgment upon those who hate Him. In the passage in II Thessalonians there is strong emphasis [...]
Jenni, I think that seems right. In the NIV, it refers specifically to Jesus healing those who are demon possessed so it seems like that would be under the second category. Becoming demon possessed is probably a consequence of willful sin. Thanks for your thoughts!
