We have a choice between a ”second death” or a second birth! These are your choices:
God is going to judge evil! That’s a good thing! He doesn’t want these comic troublemakers and terrorists running around forever wreaking havoc. Haven’t you asked yourself why God allows such evil. He will put a stop to it all. All evil will be thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:14)
The devil and all his minions are doomed. The question is whose side are you on? Do you fight for evil or do you root for good? God decides what’s good and evil. In the end, it’s His opinion that matters. But let’s get back to your second choice because eternity in a lake of fire with the hordes of hell does not sound like a rational option.
Your alternative is to jump aboard the Ark of safety. This Ark of safety is Jesus Christ. Your choice is eternal life in Christ Jesus or you’re going down with the ”second death”. There is no other option, folks. All evil will be banished by God from this beautiful reality He created for us.
So your choice is eternal life through the second birth experience in which you are born again and enter into the Ark of safety and get your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Your life will be safely ”hid in Christ” while this final judgment is made.
God always encourages us to ”choose life” but the choice is yours.

Perhaps the Book of the Prophet Zephaniah is skipped over by some who would rather not hear its proclamations of judgment: judgment on Judah (Zeph 1); judgment on the Gentile nations (Zeph 2:4-15); judgement on Jerusalem (Zeph 3:1-7); judgment on the nations: “All the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.” (Zeph [...]

“They don’t know how to cry,” I heard the Spirit whisper. Some of God’s people don’t know how to cry. Maybe that was one of the problems with the Laodicean church. (Revelation 3:14-22) Maybe a preoccupation with material wealth had quenched the Spirit which would have moved them to tears had they recognized their spiritually [...]

INTRODUCTION When I was a baby Christian, a Bible teacher was inquiring which books we would like to study. I chimed in, “Isaiah!” His comment, however, was in the negative, saying it was a lot of dry history and judgments. That was certainly not my take on the prophet. Even as young in the Lord as I [...]

(Rev 14:4; Zech 14:4; Psalm 144:5 particularly) Is this not amazing??? Yet Christ’s triumphant Return will be more than amazing!!! Psalm 144: 1. Praise to prepare for war (v. 1-2) [...]

I have to admit that often I skim over the salutations of the epistles to get to the “meat”. But what precious nuggets are even in the greetings! What an appetizer we have here! Romans 1:1-4 A major doctrine of authentic* Christianity is that Jesus Christ was both human and divine, both man and God. [...]

You know, something has been striking me recently as sort of surprising, and really disturbing. There are so many people who claimed they are saved by grace, but then they go on living, as if they were saved by works. We see this same problem in Galatians, and for some reason we think we are far [...] -

Yesterday, on the eve of election (11-1-10), we gathered, as I’m sure many saints did, to intercede for America. Everything we prayed was somehow related to a return to righteousness in this land, a land provided by Almighty God so that we may live in liberty, free to worship and free to prosper. We prayed for [...]

Perhaps you’ve heard the cliché “the oldest lie in the book” referring sometimes to “the check’s in the mail” but “the oldest lie in the book” is literally in the Book of Beginnings, the book of Genesis. It is spoken by the “father of lies”, satan. Satan’s opening line, posed as a question (Gen 3:1), [...]

”Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ?” (1 John 2:22) In Nicaragua, I met a man from Europe. We spoke at length as we were walking. He had seemingly bought the politically-correct re-definition of ”truth” as it being relative and subjective, and he was not convinced of the absolute truth of the Holy Scriptures. He asked ”What is truth?” I asserted that ”Jesus Christ IS the Truth”. Christ said it Himself. It is not only true the facts in the Bible about Jesus Christ but He IS the TRUTH! If you deny it, if you deny Him, the Word of God calls you a liar. (And liars are doomed Rev 21:8 ) That’s a strong word! But the GOOD NEWS: God WANTS you to know the Truth! He gave us His Word. He reveals the Truth to all sincere seekers of the truth. In the end, this young man prayed for God to reveal the truth to him. That’s what I prayed when I was lost in Buddhism and God in His mercy revealed to me Jesus Christ. I am confident that God will reveal the Truth of Jesus Christ to every honestly seeking heart. Are you ready to follow the Truth? Or are you not yet disgusted enough with your life of sin, self-gratification and delusion? Knowing he Truth will set you free! (John 8:32) HalleluYAH!

“Be wise as serpents…” Matthew 10:16 Not only does the Word give us guidance as to how to live righteously but it also gives us insight as to how evil operates. I suspect this is in the hope that we should avoid coming under the rule of unrighteous men. In Judges 9, we read how [...]

Liveoak Bible Church: 1 year, 8 months ago · ViewBalaam is an interesting character, but this passage is definitely confusing. I think it is easy to just read this passage and think that Balaam is a good guy. He tells Balak he won’t help him, then when he finally goes with Balak, he blesses Israel instead of curses them. Sounds like a good guy. But every other passage in the Bible about Balaam (for instance, 2 Peter 2:15, Jude 1:11, Revelation 2:14) speaks of him as very evil.
So this is one of those passages to me that shows how easily we can totally misread parts of the Bible because we lack the context that the original readers had. It is a reminder of how much care we should put into our reading of the scriptures, and not just read haphazardly.

This morning at the piano, I was singing Charles Wesley’s “And Can It Be?” . His last verse ends “Bold I approach th’eternal throne, and claim the crown, through Christ, my own”. Satan doesn’t have a creative bone in him. He is an imitator, but when he imitates he perverts. I just read a good article by John Piper: How Willingly Do People Go to Hell . In it, he challenges C.S. Lewis’ statements about hell: that “all that are in hell choose it” and “all God does in the end with people is give them what they most want.” John Piper makes very good arguments to [...]

In Revelation 7 John tells us that four angels are told to withhold judgment until the servants of God are sealed. There are 144,000 servants to seal from the children of Israel.
