I’ve always thought the Second Coming will be the BIGGEST EVENT of human history. It seems the great commentator Matthew Henry agrees. Without the Second Coming, ”all the other articles of the Christian faith will signify very little; this is that which fills up and gives the finishing stroke to all the rest.” (on 2 Peter 3) Amen! He continues: ”The believer not only desires that he may come, but having a promise that he will come, he is also firmly and fully persuaded that he will come.” We are admonished to be ”looking for the Day of God” and also to be ”hastening” it! (2 Peter 3:12) Now, may you understand why this is a subject I reference often in conversation. Maranatha! Come, LORD Jesus, come!

Don’t let anyone deprive you of the promise, the Blessed Hope of His Coming! (Titus 2:13) Those who mockingly ask ’Where is the promise of His coming?’ scoffers! (2 Peter 3:3) Jesus WILL COME again! All through Scripture, is the promise of His Coming to judge evil and redeem His people! (See also Matthew 13:38-43)

PS: a clarification: ”I’ve always thought” should be clarified with ”since I realized He was coming again” after I was delivered.

The song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32 begins with Moses saying, “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak , and let the earth hear the words of my mouth . May my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, like gentle rain upon the tender grass, and like showers upon the herb. For I will proclaim the [...]

Verse 17 stood out to me today. In our OT Survey class, we discussed that parents should avoid making rules before they’re needed, lest the child get ideas from the rules. For example, if you tell your kid he cannot put peas in his nose, you may have just given him an idea that never occurred to him. So when I read verse 17 today, I appreciated that God, being a fantastic Father, tried to keep us from the knowledge of good & evil. If only we would have listened! ;)

I like the connection with your thought and Genesis 2. I hadn’t seen how it was God’s kindness to us to keep us from the tree. I like the pea example. :)

Peas in your nose? Did David tell you about his brother doing that? :)

The plugin should work, but the Bible directory won’t have the bible text on it, atm. I will upload a new zip file with that fix this weekend.

You should also make sure you update your permalinks (just go to the permalink settings page and hit save), so that the new custom post type permalink structure becomes available.

The old Bible Directory (which required BP, btw) is now replaced with an Archive page for the ‘bible-tool’ custom post type (which doesn’t require BP). The slug is currently set to be ‘bible-tools’, although I will probably change it by default to just be ‘bible’. But for now you should be able to access it [...]

BTW, the reading plans in version 1.0 are implemented differently. On this site, they are BP-based, but in the version 1.0, they are custom post types, and are managed as part of a blog, rather than a BP Group.

Sorry about that, bear with me, I’ve been overhauling a lot of things in the plugin. I had worked on quite a few new things back in late November, then got busy with other projects and never pushed them to git hub. I just pushed them now, and you can give that a try. I [...]

We have a choice between a ”second death” or a second birth! These are your choices:

God is going to judge evil! That’s a good thing! He doesn’t want these comic troublemakers and terrorists running around forever wreaking havoc. Haven’t you asked yourself why God allows such evil. He will put a stop to it all. All evil will be thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:14)

The devil and all his minions are doomed. The question is whose side are you on? Do you fight for evil or do you root for good? God decides what’s good and evil. In the end, it’s His opinion that matters. But let’s get back to your second choice because eternity in a lake of fire with the hordes of hell does not sound like a rational option.

Your alternative is to jump aboard the Ark of safety. This Ark of safety is Jesus Christ. Your choice is eternal life in Christ Jesus or you’re going down with the ”second death”. There is no other option, folks. All evil will be banished by God from this beautiful reality He created for us.

So your choice is eternal life through the second birth experience in which you are born again and enter into the Ark of safety and get your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Your life will be safely ”hid in Christ” while this final judgment is made.

God always encourages us to ”choose life” but the choice is yours.

How is the Bible directory not functioning?

In the new version, the Bible directory has been replaced with an Archive page for the Bible Tool (ie. Translations) custom post type, so it will work even without BuddyPress.
